How did you get into
photography? |
Do you find photography
difficult? |
|
Shooting started for me back at high school
in Huntington Beach, CA. Not a bad
backdrop if you ask me. Photography
began to explode for me while I was trying
my hand at acting and modeling while living
in Los Angeles. |
I suppose it was difficult when I first
started shooting, not knowing very much
about the technical side of photography.
Getting that great shot has to do with both
the eye of the photographer and their
technical knowledge. |

What do find tough about
the business? |
What does professional
mean to you? |
|
One of the toughest things about this and
almost any business is the constant
self-promotion and marketing. It is
THE most time consuming part of this
business that I do. |
Being
professional means that I'm on time,
responsible, and I produce the idea/vision
that my clients have hired me to create.
I consider myself to be a professional
photographer. |
|
Do you have favorite
shoot locations? |
What type of photography
do you prefer? |
|
Being that Las
Vegas is in the middle of a desert oasis, I
have many favorite locations. The two
that stand out the most are Red Rock
Canyon and the dry lake bed. Both
locations are about 25 minutes away from The
Strip. |
As you can see on from my website, I do not
have a preference per se. I started off as a
Glamour and Fashion photographer, but have
progressed into a more diverse style.
I try not to limit myself as a photographer
or in my life. |
|
Where can fans see more
of your work? |
Who is your favorite
photographer? |
|
I shoot for two magazines, Las Vegas Weekly
and Las Vegas Life. Since they are
very different publications, I must wear
a different "hat" each time I shoot, which I
fully embrace. |
I am a huge fan of both
Herb Ritts
and
David Lachapelle.
They have different styles which I love.
I also enjoy the works of
Sante D'Orazio,
Peter Lindbergh,
and
Andreas H. Bitesnich. |
|
Your style is very
diverse, why is that? |
Do you ever shoot outside
of Las Vegas? |
|
I am not quite certain why, but I'm sure it
comes from a love and passion for all
things. I almost feel as though if I
do not shoot a particular subject, that I'm
missing out on life. |
I used to shoot often in Los Angeles and
Southern Utah, but in recent years haven't
had the time to get out there as much as I'd
like. I look forward to traveling
across the US. |
|
Do you have any other
ambitions? |
Any advice for new
photographers? |
|
I
have always wanted to open an art gallery,
that focused on the artist taking control of
their careers by providing them space to
sell their art pieces for what THEY feel
they are worth. |
Just keep shooting. Always take your
camera everywhere. You will find great
shots in the oddest places. With the
advent of digital, you can hone your skills
without busting your wallet. |
|
Who is your favorite band
or musician? |
What type of personality
do you have? |
|
Wow...this is a tough one. My music
interests are very diverse, but I never get
tired of listening to The Killers, INXS,
Guns & Roses, or Prince. The music
they have made is timeless.
|
I am a very laid back, easy going type of
person. I do not allow disturbances to
rattle my cage. There are many things
in life that we have absolutely no control
over, so I just roll with it. |
|
Who built your website? |
Do you have any pets? |
|
This site came from
my hours and sweat. I wanted to make
sure I captured "my" vision.
I've had other "webmasters" build my site,
but I feel if you want it done right, do it
yourself. |
Yes, I have a dog. She is a
chow/retriever mix and her name is Coco.
She's traveled all around the country with
me. Maybe you will get to meet her
some day. ;-) |
